FAQ
What should I wear?
Dress like you.
Wear what makes you feel like you! If your vibe tends to be boho, wear boho! If your go-to is a button down shirt and jeans, roll with that. The takeaway here: be your authentic self in your photos.
Consider muted tones or neutrals.
This includes denim and chambray. Shades of navy, muted blues, rusty oranges, and plum tones are always winners. Be sure to consider the setting for your photo session and complement/contrast with it.
Plan ahead.
Lay out everyone’s outfits and see how they flow together. Once you have narrowed down your selections, try everything on together to see how you look.
Avoid all white, all black, and logos.
These tones blend together and details are hard to distinguish.
Don't be too matchy-matchy.
Instead of twinning, coordinate! Your outfits should complement and contrast with each other.

Why should I hire a professional photographer?
Have you thought about scheduling a professional photo session, but haven’t made it a priority yet? Time passes quickly and I’d love to witness you in your current season of life. If you’re wondering what the benefits are when hiring a pro, keep reading and please reach out if you have any questions.
1) Everyone gets to be in the photo!
2) Your photos will be edited by a professional using special software.
3) When necessary, photos will be retouched! See more below.
4) A photo session is a fun bonding experience!
Will I feel comfortable in front of the camera?
If you aren't used to being in front of the camera, I see you. In fact, nearly everyone I photograph starts off a session by confessing that they aren't naturally comfortable having their photo taken. That's ok! We will ease into the session, get to know each other, and roll with it. I'll follow your lead and will be happy to give you posing prompts if you'd like. We'll have fun together and that will show in the end results.
Can you change my body during editing?
Here's the thing...I want you to feel beautiful exactly as you are. I will photograph the most flattering angles and encourage you to avoid picking yourself apart when you see your proofs. I know that can be hard! That being said, I promise to never modify your body in any way. Unsightly marks that will disappear within a couple of weeks will, however, be touched up in editing. This includes large blemishes, scratches, bruises, light stains on clothing, unnecessary graffiti, and so more!
What is your policy on sharing photos online?
I sometimes share photos in my online portfolio and on social media to showcase my work. However, your family’s comfort and safety will always come first—there’s no right or wrong choice as to what you prefer. As of 2026, I will ask you to designate that preference when you book your session. One option includes beautiful, non-identifying photos (like side profiles or backs of heads). No matter your selection, your name will never be included alongside your photos.
What is your turnaround time for photos?
Your final, edited gallery will be ready within 10–12 business days of your photo session, provided your final photography invoice has been paid in full. You can select and download the number of high-resolution images included in your package directly from your gallery. If you’d like more, you can purchase additional individual images or upgrade to the full gallery by using the shopping cart icon on each photo.
What is your weather policy?
Sessions will proceed in light rain or drizzle typical of the Pacific Northwest, but I'll do my best to reschedule in the event of heavy rain, high winds, or other extreme weather conditions.
Can you hold our session indoors?
In times when the weather might be too cold for you or your littles, I can reserve a studio for your photo session. Read this blog post to see samples from a recent winter studio session. Renting a studio does incur an additional charge, so please contact me for a quote on your session.
