Fall in Seattle is stunning! Our nice weather lingers and the colors vary from month to month. So, fall lovers, take note! Here's what you can generally expect for autumn photo sessions in Seattle each year. And, of course, there is always a chance of rain (especially later in the season). I am able to shoot in light rain, but I will also work with you when the weather is being its most Seattle-y.
SEPTEMBER
Why: September is one of Seattle's best months! It brings warm light and crisp air plus flowers are still hanging around (think dahlias!). Golden hour lasts longer, session times are ending earlier, and the colors are rich without the chill.
Where to go: Magnuson Park, Volunteer Park, any of the area beaches
october
Why: If you're looking for changing leaves, October in Seattle is when the magic happens! The leaves become more vibrant as the month goes on and soft overcast skies make for flattering light. Plus it's the start of cozy season (think boots and sweaters)!
Where to go: Washington Park Arboretum, Ballard Locks, UW Center for Urban Horticulture, Snohomish County pumpkin patches
november
Why: Fall color lingers and softens in November. If you're into less bold tones, this is a great month to capture the season without the extra bright color. Be aware that November is soggier and foggier which is beautiful and moody in its own PNW way.
Where to go: Bothell Landing, Juanita Bay Park, area tree farms
